They were used by the hunts in packs to hunt otter But after otter hunting was banned in england, they had to be re-homed from their country estates into homes as pets. and resarcher founded out that there were only 350 Otterhounds in North America.
4. Azawakh - This is very rare outside outside of its native food. This sighthound is very rare outside of it’s native Africa, but is finding favor in the United States, where between 100-200 dogs are said to live. This hound appears to be a stretched-out greyhound, and is more pack oriented than other sighthounds. It is used for hunting gazelles and other fleet animals of the African deserts.
5. Tibetan Mastiff - They are from the original Mastiff dogs of ancient times. Also, they are fierce guardians in their native Himalayans. They suffered in a lot of health problems when they were removed from their original mountaintop posts. They were bred for better temperament. They are a massive males that could reach over 160 pounds.
6. Carolina Dog - Also known as the "American Dingo that has been linked with the primitive dog breeds such as the Australian Dingo and New Guinea Singing Dog. They are such a versatile breed. Compared to other domestic dogs, that has an estrus cycle twice a year, They only have a single estrus cycle in a year. It is a pariah dog of the American Southeast.
7. Norwegian Lundehund - Also called a “Puffin Dog”kept by the Vikings and used as an agile hunter who has an very flexible jointsand has double claws on feet. But this breed has digestive condition problem that makes difficult for the absorption of nutrients from their food intake.
8. Thai Ridgeback - They were introduced in the U.S. in 1994, an Asian dog identified by the ridge of hair growing against the lay of the coat along the spine, a characteristic shared with the Rhodesian Ridgeback. A strong-willed and power breed kind of dog. They are used as a livestock guardians and protection dogs.
9. Mudi - A Hungarian Herding dog that has a superior quality. They have soft, curly coat that can make them be uniquely identified. they excel at canine agility, and have been gaining recognition for their excellent herding abilities.
10. Catalburun - A turkish Pointer Breed with a "split nose" This may be the result of severe inbreeding, Either way, they are virtually unknown outside of Turkey, although they are prized in their homeland for their hunting abilities.
